Mission Critical: Mark Van Loan and Jared Clark headed out to Chebeague Island this week to help wrap up Maine’s newest municipal broadband network. Residents and businesses in the Town of Chebeague Island, an island community in Casco Bay, will be upgrading from DSL service to 1 Gbps fiber internet. Like all municipal broadband efforts, this requires a hefty dose of collaboration: we are proud to be part of the team that includes the Chebeague Island Broadband Committee, the Maine Connectivity Authority, and Axiom Technologies. Special shout out to Broadband Committee chair Michael Porter, who hosted the Mission Broadband team and will be Chebeague’s first residential customer sometime this month!
